On Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in  Riverfront Park, the City of Rensselaer will commemorate the very first grand slam in Major League Baseball hit by Roger Connor of the National League Troy Trojans against the Worcester Ruby legs.  An incredible amount of research was done to pinpoint the location of the grand slam which was originally thought to have taken place in Albany but has been found to have occurred in our City of Rensselaer!

Now, some 138 years later, we will have the honor of recognizing this event by erecting a plaque in Roger Connor's honor.  Many thanks to Third Ward Alderman Bryan Leahey for coordinating this historic event.  Please join us at 4PM in Riverfront Park!
