FAQ
Q. What is SEQR?
A. SEQR stands for State Environmental Quality Review. This statute, adopted by the City of Rensselaer in 1986 (see
Chapter 93 "Environmental Quality Review" of the City's Code), establishes a procedure whereby a proposed activity undergoes a review process to identify any significant environmental impacts prior to permitting. See the Department of Environmental Conservation
website for additional information on the State Environmental Quality Review Act or to download a copy of the
SEQR cookbook "A step-by-step discussion of the basic SEQR process".
