We will provide for the safety and welfare through the preservation of life and property. Provide Fire, Rescue, Hazardous Materials and Emergency Medical Services with professionalism and with the highest regard for the safety of all.

The Rensselaer Fire Department will continually strive to meet the changing needs of our community, by providing a modern and progressive and safe department. We will do this with the highest degree of readiness and focusing the professional development and training of all personnel.
Description
The Rensselaer Fire Department is a combination department composed of 16 paid members of Local 2643 of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and volunteer firefighters from the local community. Working in unison all members work to provide the citizens of Rensselaer a first rate Emergency Services Department.
