Treasurer Overview
Under the City Charter, Rensselaer's Treasurer is the City’s “Chief Fiscal Officer.” The Treasurer is responsible for the collection, receipt, care and custody of all taxes and monies due the City and is also responsible for payment of all vouchers, claims, payroll and other authorized disbursements. As Rensselaer’s Chief Fiscal Officer, the Treasurer oversees investment and debt management as authorized by State and local law.
